Welcome to another side of Stockholm! Like in any city, there are places best left unexplored.

According to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention, nearly one-third of women in Sweden feel unsafe when walking alone at night. Through this anti-guide, you’ll be taken on a journey through Stockholm’s inner city, with the thoughts and experiences of women aged 18 to 65 from various backgrounds. These narratives highlight areas you might want to avoid.

Rather than offering a practical guide to the city, Detour invites reflection and discussion on how we navigate the city and address experiences of insecurity within it.

Share locations where you feel unsafe. Provide details such as the location, time, and, if possible, reasons why it feels unsafe. The website will be frequently updated with your contributions. Thank you for raising awareness.
